The Executive Director of the South Belt-Ellington Chamber of Commerce serves as the face of the Chamber, acting as a community leader, business advocate, and ambassador. The Executive Director collaborates with other business, civic organizations, and elected officials to improve the local business climate for the Chamber and its members. In addition, the Executive Director supervises chamber staff and facilitates the day-to-day operations of the Chamber and is responsible for all areas including, but not limited to, Program Development; Public Relations; Communications and Financial, Member and Event Management.
Program Development
- Identifies and creates opportunities to grow the Chamber and support the business community through innovative ideas and practices.
- Responsible for planning and organizing board meetings.
- Provides oversight, support and direction to on-going programs at the Chamber.
- Communicates weekly to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors on Chamber programs, activities, and other issues relevant to the success of the Chamber.
- Develops and maintain professional relationships with business and community organizations, local and state government, and elected officials.
Public Relations
- Represents and promotes the Chamber and its policies and objectives in a variety of public forums, including federal, state, county and local government elected leaders, collaborating organizations and individual businesses.
Communications
- Creates and implements the Chamber’s comprehensive marketing, communications, social media and public relations plan, enhancing the organization’s image and position within the community to support the Chambers goals and objectives.
Financial Responsibility
- Performs the financial planning, budgeting and develops internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for activities such as budget administration, cash and credit management, accounting and reporting.
Membership Management
- Develops, recruits and implements strategies for member retention including new member programs and events.
Events
- Responsible for all aspects of events including organizing, creating a timeline, promoting, and financial management
