About
We chartered in 2016 to offer the community opportunities to overcome their fear of public speaking, to garner leadership skills, and to become self confident in a safe and supportive environment. The self-paced educational program, Pathways, has eleven paths with over 300 competencies that will ensure members have the skills to gain a competitive advantage in the workplace. The Toastmaster journey also includes learning how to listen and speech writing.
The Toastmaster journey also includes learning how to listen and speech writing. Our weekly 6:30-7:30 pm meetings are conducted online every Tuesday; we include in-person presence on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month here at the South Belt Ellington Chamber of Commerce. We provide a positive and supportive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth. Confidence can't be taught, however, when you practice how to write and deliver a speech, how to listen, and how to give feedback to fellow members at our weekly meetings your self-confidence will rise. You also have the opportunity to deliver extemporaneous speeches which are important during interviews.
